“Not everybody wins, and certainly not everybody wins all the time.
But once you get into your boat and push off, tie into your shoes and bootstretchers, then “lean on the oars,”
you have indeed won far more than those who have never tried.”

Rowing Safety: It is important to know who is on the water. Therefore, you MUST sign the “On the Water Log Book” each time you go out rowing and when you return.

Rowers in SINGLE/DOUBLE SHELLS, with out safety launch, MUST wear a PFD. The Lake Warden is checking rowers. An inflatable waist belt is best. Do not use a red Type II Kippy Liddle PFDs.

Equipment: Megunticook Rowing equipment is limited and scheduled classes have priority on use.

Private Boats: boats marked “Private Boats” are NOT Megunticook Rowing equipment and can only be rowed by the boat owner.

Location: Barrett’s Cove Public Beach at Megunticook Lake: Take Route 52 north out of downtown Camden. Go 2.7 miles and turn left, near the bottom of a big hill, onto Beaucaire Ave. Park at the Barrett’s Cove Beach parking lot. From the north end of the parking lot cross the small foot bridge and follow the trail to the left of the changing rooms to the boat storage and rowing dock site.

Emergency Contact: With personal injury call 911 for assistance. To report boat or dock problems call Megunticook Rowing at 207-542-5497.

Racks & Floats: Megunticook Rowing owns and operates the boat storage racks and floating docks. We use the landing under a license agreement from the Town of Camden. Please respect the boats, floating dock, all structures, and remain on the footpath.

The floating docks are for use by Megunticook Rowing shells and coach launch only. It is not a public access dock.
