The Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kathryn “Kali” Brown has joined Megunticook Rowing as a full-time coach. She will spend the month of May working with our tremendous group of volunteer coaches: Will and Kelly Schaetzke, Sam Abbott and Andy Obst. They are wrapping up the season with the junior teams. Her first morning’s practice featured a boys and girls 4+, and a boys double. The junior teams are gearing up for NE Championships to be held May 17 and 18 in Lowell. Dirigo Sprints wraps up the season May24th on Megunticook Lake.

Kali was recently the assistant rowing coach at St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY and describes herself as a “dedicated educator with passion for coaching and teaching.” Prior to coaching at St. Lawrence, Kali coached and taught history and the humanities at Windsor School of the Bahamas and at Connecticut’s Kent School. She has US Rowing Level 1 and 2 Coaching certification.

After the junior season is in the books, Kali will shift her focus to the summer programs of rowing for all ages and skill levels. More information on a full schedule of programs to come.
