Come Coach Us!

Come Coach Us!

Megunticook Rowing in Camden, Maine is a small and expanding nonprofit community rowing program. We are seeking a head coach to work with rowers of all ages and abilities, in both sweep and scull.

Megunticook Rowing (MR) offers a unique opportunity for coaching. 3 hours north of Boston, Megunticook Lake offers pristine waters and gorgeous mountain views in a thriving seaside community. Our rowers enjoy the call of loons and the thrill of bald eagles soaring overhead while on the water in all size shells from singles to eights. Many of our members and guests comment that they have never rowed on a more beautiful body of water. But MR offers more than simply a bucolic setting. As a small and close-knit organization, we offer the opportunity to work in a supportive atmosphere for a head coach with an Inspirational attitude and
entrepreneurial spirit. We encourage someone who is a creative thinker to become invested in our program as we grow, and to have a part in the direction our organization will take. Rather than dictating training programs from the top down, our head coach will have the autonomy and latitude to bring their strengths to the position; we are looking for someone with whom we can collaborate to create strong teams and encourage people to enjoy our sport at all levels. We are a board run non-profit, with a small group of invested directors who participate in and are passionate about the programs we offer. There is no remote, unknown governing body; instead of sitting in meetings with your supervisors, you are more likely to be coaching them at practice. If you are interested in being part of a growing club at an exciting point in its development and coaching on a remarkable lake, please visit www.megunticookrowing.org for more information and to submit an application.
